Harold Wayne Bierman, 84, of Pleasant Hill entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 11, 2023. A visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines, Iowa 50312. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 10 AM at Grandview Park Chapel followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Harold was born on August 22, 1938 to Howard and Hazel Bierman. He married Barbara Ellen Simmons in 1960 and together they made their home in Pleasant Hill and raised their children. He loved his family and loved spending time with them. Before working for Armstrong Tire and the Polk County Sheriff's office for many years, Harold was a policeman in Ankeny and the surrounding area before moving to Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Harold was a member of the Adelphi Calvary Baptist Church and was active in the ACTS Academy. He loved volunteering with the church youth group and going to the Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Those left to cherish his memory include his three children; Lori (John) Williams of Des Moines, Kari (Pat) Holland of Indianola and Jana Carl of Indianola; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Bierman; his parents, Howard and Hazel; son, Mike and daughter-in-law Cathy; and brother, Darold “Butch” Bierman.
